I have been reading Christina Dodd books from the library and have become quite a fan of her work, so much so that I bought this book without even reading the reviews. That was unfortunate, as this book was confusing from a certain point in the book until the bizarre ending. The "ending" is a definite cliffhanger, which I really hate. I feel the author owes the reader a real ending. Not a satisfying read.

Wow! Loved this story! I would give it a 10 if I could. If you read this, pay attention to the characters and when (past or present) the events take place. I do like the way past adventures were italicized. I'm so glad Patricia was not the heroine. I love Kellen and her gutsy attitude. The ending is super, super good. I read this in one afternoon and didn't guess who the bad guy was. Storms, villains, lovable characters and a good ending. What more could you ask for. I didn't want to skip a page. I can hardly wait until the next book.
I hope the next book in the series is better! While the story kept me interested, I did not think it was plausible, particularly at the end - and that bugged me.
Dead Girl Running starts off with a bang, literally, and doesn't let up. Christina Dodd sets a relentless pace, and we first meet Cecelia Lykke as she prepares to leave her sadistic and cruel husband, but he has a cruel ending planned for her. Cecelia watched as her cousin, Kellen, dies in her place, and is forced to assume her identity.There are many holes in Kellen's (Cecelia's) memory, which in turn, create an ongoing mystery. There are several subplots within the story and some flashback moments, but those moments are necessary to fill in the blanks of the tale. Kellen is a war veteran, highly analytical, with an excellent memory for details. When it comes to her work and sizing people up, Kellen is unmatched, but her memories and missing details continue to haunt her. Some old friends show up in the story--the DeLucas from Bella Terra and Sheriff Kateri Kwinault from Virtue Falls. Just when you think you have the story figured out, a new wrinkle appears. Welcome to Cape Charade, where little is exactly what it appears, and where people are full of surprises, both good and bad. Highly recommended.
What a story! If I could give this 10 stars,I would! Christina Dodd only gets better with each story she writes and with Dead Girl Running she has made it into my writer's hall of fame. I Literally could not put this book down. The writing is impeccable, her characters unforgettable, and the mystery, suspense and nonstop action made me almost feel like I was watching some superhero movie. If you made this into a movie, I guarantee it would be a hit!
What a confusing story. so many plots, flashbacks, characters to do justice to do any of them. The main character was two dimedntional, it was hard to keep feeling sorry for such a bland person. the male lead drops in toward the end with a short description of their 'love'. His character was not dedveloped either. and best of all you haved to read another book to see what happens. i love Dodd, but where was the great dialog? The humor? A coherant story?
I really wanted to like this book but I could not get into it. Too confusing and disjointed. Did not connect with any characters. It was a waste of money.
In some ways, this is an old fashioned mystery. Storm, everyone trapped in a spooky, nearly empty hotel, large cast of characters. Me. Dodd adds in the electricity. She provides much more of a backstory for her characters, an amnesia and battered woman subplot. If you are looking for this to be a romance, it is much more of a romance of the older mystery genre. There is some romance, but you have to wait for it. The mystery keeps you going, trying to find out the truth.
